Q: Why book with Sandra Makeup & Hair Artistry?
Sandra Makeup & Hair Artistry specializes in bridal makeup services. We travel to you for your wedding and make sure you feel AMAZING on your big day. Our services include a bridal trial to design your perfect look, we create a hair/makeup schedule to ensure everyone is ready at your desired time, lashes are always included ( at no additional cost), veil placement for the bride, and bridal touch up kit.
Q: Do you have a minimum amount of services?
For distances under 45 mins from 20110 there are no minimums. For distances over 45 mins. from 20110 we just require the booking of 2 services ( ex: bride hair & makeup).
Q: Do you do trials for weddings?
A: Yes! I absolutely recommend trials for brides prior to the wedding. During you trial we will design your bridal look, try a few variations of the makeup/hair looks you like, and we will make sure you are 100% happy with your look. The trial usually takes longer than the actual wedding day services. I’ve found the best time for a trial is 2 - 3 months before the wedding. My current bridal services for makeup and hair include a trial, so you don’t have to worry about a separate fee.
Trials are typically held on Sunday mornings in my home studio located in Manassas. *Other options can be arranged on a case by case basis. This also helps you see how your makeup and hair will wear throughout the day.
Q: Do you offer services for my bridal party?
A: Yes, I also work with other artists to service larger bridal parties. For parties of requiring 7 or more services a second artist is recommended. Or when you have a shorter getting ready time, this will help us finish in a reasonable timeframe for you and your bridal party.
Q: How long does each service take?
A: Each service (Makeup or Hair) takes approximately 45-60 minutes. For the bride, I schedule between 2 to 2.5 hours for makeup and hair. Two weeks before your wedding, I will send you a Hair and Makeup timeline for you and your bridal party, to ensure we complete at your desired finish time.
Q: Where is your home studio located?
A: My home studio is located in Manassas, Virginia and for mileage purposes you can use zip code 20110. I travel within the Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. area. Travel fees apply to distances over 30 minutes from 20110.
Q: Do you offer a touch up kit for the bride?
A: Yes, I do! The bride will receive a mini lip color touch up kit, travel size hair spray(for hair services), makeup remover, and extra Bobby pins.
Q: Do you offer veil placement?
A: Yes! I will assist you in placing your veil with your hair styling services. I strongly recommend you bring your veil and any other hair accessories you plan to wear on your wedding day to your trial day.
Q: Do you offer false eyelash application?
A: Yes, lashes are offered with all makeup applications (if the client would like them).
Q: Do you offer airbrush foundation application?
A: Yes, I offer airbrush foundation application. Airbrush foundation is extremely long wearing and has a light-weight feel. Traditional foundations can also be extremely long lasting and look beautiful. Different foundations can react differently to different skin types and textures. During your trial we will discuss which foundation works best for you.
